Written Passed - NSE8_811

Quick post for this evening. I sat and passed the NSE8 written this morning! (The 811 exam).

I was mainly sitting this attempt to inform me if I should try and pass this version of the test before it was retired at the end of March or take some time and study toward the 812. Passing today was a huge relief as it lets me focus my efforts on studying for the lab exam - I'm just really keen to get more hands on in my studies.

In order to prep for written I read through the admin guides on docs.fortinet.com for the products I was least familiar with (FortiSIEM, Fortinet 5k and 7k, FortiDDoS) and did some labbing for the rest of the products. Any time I came across a piece of information I thought "that would make a good exam question" I wrote it down and reviewed those notes once a week up until this week when I sat the exam. All in all this paid off as some of the pieces of information I picked out ended up in the exam.

So where to from here?

I've started putting together a lab topology based off the products listed for the lab exam, and Ill work through building this topology multiple times to gain speed with deploying the solutions.
It's a first step for now, and Ill do my best to document the process on here.
